چکیده

The work we present here is in line with a novel approach, called CoopFlow, for workflow cooperation that consists of the four steps (1) workflow abstraction, (2) workflow advertisement, (3) workflow matching and interconnection, and (4) workflow cooperation. In this paper, we continue our contributions within the CoopFlow approach. The main objective is to develop new tools for workflow advertisement to realise the second step of CoopFlow. Therefore, we present a new ontology for semantic description of cooperative workflows. This ontology will be used as a semantic model for cooperative workflow advertisement. In addition, we define an architecture and design a knowledge base for cooperative worklfow advertisement and discovery inspired of the steps of the life cycle of Web services.

Collaborative scientific workflows supporting collaborative science

Collaboration has become a dominant feature of modern science. Many scientific problems are beyond the realm of individual discipline or scientist to solve and hence require collaborative efforts. Meanwhile, today’s science becomes increasingly more dataintensive, resulting in a rapid transition from computational science to e-Science (or digital science). Recently, scientific workflows have em...

Approach and Realization of a Multi - tenant aware Process Model Registry

Background The SimTech Cluster of Excellence [1] studies multi-scale and multi-physics simulation methods. These methods aim for combining different scales (e.g. cells, tissue, bone, skeleton) and different physics (e.g. mechanics, thermodynamics, quantum physics) into one overall simulation. The Institute of Architecture of Application Systems (IAAS) has built a Workflow Management System (WfM...

Co-Taverna: A Tool Supporting Collaborative Scientific Workflows”, Proceedings of The 7th IEEE International Conference on Services Computing (SCC)

Scientific workflows have become an important instrument for domain scientists to synergistically integrate distributed computations and data to accelerate scientific discoveries. Existing scientific workflow tools, however, only support single scientists to compose scientific workflows in a desktop application. Nowadays, many scientific research projects are becoming increasingly larger scale,...
